The world’s best typography is on display at Queenstown’s Te Atamira.

Auckland-based creative agency Osborne Shiwan has brought Type Directors Club (TDC) Awards to the arts and culture centre, at Remarkables Park, in ‘TDC68 Aotearoa’.

Founded in 1946 by the industry’s leading design practitioners, the New York-based TDC aims to build a creative community through public events and platforms, support the growth of students and early-career professionals, and recognise excellence in global type design.

The exhibition brings together hundreds of pieces from entrants including Apple, The New York Times, Pentagram, Mucho and Klim Type
Foundry.

The annual awards recognise design excellence and typographic innovation — the exhibition travels across the US, Asia, Europe and New Zealand.

This year, more than 200 winners were selected from 63 countries by a diverse jury of leading designers and type designers.

Osborne Shiwan creative director Shabnam Shiwan says the subsequent exhibition offers an ‘‘exciting glimpse’’ into future design and cultural trends in typography.

‘‘Seeing the best progressive typographic work represented by so many languages, including te reo Māori, makes it unique — everyone will find something to enjoy.’’

‘TDC68 Aotearoa’ is on display at Te Atamira till September 13.
