Wakatipu High School’s 1st XV (pictured) won the Ritchies Cup in Queenstown last weekend, beating Otago Boys’ High 2nd XV, 34-26.
By winning the middle-four playoff, the team finished fifth overall in the Otago Premier Schools’ Rugby Championship.
This was the first year Wakatipu High has mixed it with the top rugby-playing schools in Otago and Southland, playing in the top six-team division of the champs.
