It’s back.
For the third year running, two top musicians are bringing a chamber music festival to the Queenstown-Lakes which they believe rivals the world’s best.
Running from October 7 till 20, At the World’s Edge (AWE) Festival’s the creation of local-based director Justine Cormack and London-based artistic director Ben Baker, and takes place again in Queenstown, Wānaka and Cromwell.
Ten leading international and national musicians will be performing along with three up-and-coming Kiwi artists whom they’ll mentor.
The Queenstown venue is Remarkables Park’s arts and cultural centre, Te Atamira, which will host concerts on October 7 and 13 and nine free events and performances.
One free event will be a music and dance collaboration between Baker and two contemporary dancers.
Following the public events,the festival artists will tour a number of local schools.
