Resort stars in TV’s ‘World’s Toughest Test’

It looks like Queenstown’s about to take a starring role in a new United States reality show.

Season two of Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test is set to premiere on US channel Fox on September 25 — one of the 14 celebs taking part’s Jojo Siwa, 20, who was in Queenstown last month, rumoured to have been taking part in a big-budget spin-off series of British TV’s SAS: Who Dares Wins?

Also included in the lineup are actors Brian Austin-Green, Tara Reid, Nick Viall and Tyler Cameron, model Blac Chyna, former US alpine ski racer Bode Miller, media personality Jack Osbourne, and Tom Sandoval (pictured), of Vanderpump Rules infamy.

The short teaser includes clips of the competitors whitewater rafting, running over snow-capped mountains and driving through explosions.

According to Entertainment Weekly, contestants face bitter temperatures and steep terrain as they take on challenges pulled from the playbook of special forces training, including crossing a ravine on a 1500-metre snow-capped mountain peak and escaping from a chopper submerged in freezing water.

They’re competing under the watchful eyes of former special-forces operatives Rudy Reyes, Mark ‘Billy’ Billingham, Jason ‘Foxy’ Fox and Jovon ‘Q’ Quarles — according to EW, there are no votes, no eliminations and no points to keep track of.

The only way for celebs to leave the competition is to give up, fail, through injury or by force from the directing staff agents.

The first season, renamed SAS: USA for New Zealand audiences, starred the likes of Spice Girl Mel B and Jamie Lyn Spears and screened on Three via Warner Bros Discovery.
