In its continuing bid to become a top-tier summer events venue, Coronet Peak is hosting one of its last events of the season today, joined
by a couple of New Zealand’s top musos.

Tiki Taane and Sola Rosa are heading up the mountain for daytime gig, ‘Day For It’.

Sola Rosa master mind, Andrew Spraggon (pictured), says he and his band are keen just to get out of Auckland and down south, and experience the all-year-round beauty of Queenstown.

The group, comprising vocalist Wallace Gollan with Stallone D’Souza, Issac Etimani, Chris Grant and Spraggon, hasn’t performed in the Whakatipu for years, he says, and it could be a while before they return.

‘‘It’s gonna kick-ass,’’ he laughs.

They join Kiwi icon Tiki Taane, who’s sure to spoil Coronet with classics including Always on My Mind and Serendipity.

Day For It runs from noon till 6pm, tickets cost $35 (under-16s go free), via coronetpeak.co.nz — bus passes are available for $15 per person between The Station Building on Duke Street to Coronet and return.
