Anyone interested in volunteering their services for a local organisation is invited to a speed dating event taking place in Queenstown next Wednesday.
Taking place from 4.30 until 6.30pm at Remarkable Park’s Te Atamira arts and cultural centre, ‘Find Your Perfect Match’ invites would-be vollies to meet a range of organisations keen to sign you up.
It’s a National Volunteer Week (NVW) event organised by Volunteer South, Queenstown Lakes District Council (QLDC), Welcoming Communities and the Kiwi Kit Community Trust.
‘‘Volunteering is known to have a huge range of benefits to an individual’s wellbeing, so this event fits perfectly with QLDC’s winter wellness campaign and NVW,’’ QLDC wellbeing programmes coordinator Samantha Saccomanno says.
‘‘Whether you are new to the area or have been here a while, we invite you to connect with some fantastic people and organisations in
a fun, playful way.’’
