NOT-so-natural ducks will be racing down Queenstown’s Horne Creek this Sunday afternoon in a Rotary Club fundraiser for local food rescue charity, KiwiHarvest.

Some 40 to 45 businesses are being billed $265 a pop for corporate ducks, who’ll set off from the Village Green, bound for the Queenstown Bay outlet, at 3pm.

It’ll be a colourful show as the ducks have been decorated for a ‘best-dressed’ comp.

On the day, the public can also buy ducks for $10 a head for a second duck race that’ll start about 3.30pm.

Local businesses have generously stumped up $3000-plus in prize vouchers for both races.

The after-match will be at The Pig & Whistle.

Rotary duck organiser Tim Wilshire expects about $8000 will be raised for KiwiHarvest, whose funding was slash ed by the outgoing government from $11 million to just over $1m.
