Award-winning indie-folk artist Mel Parsons’ performing at Arrowtown’s Athenaeum Hall tomorrow night, part of her Slow Burn album release tour.
Parsons, who also helps make up the cast of New Zealand music group Fly My Pretties, added the show to the tail end of the long-awaited tour to meet demand.
She says the extra scheduling “just worked out” and getting to play the Athenaeum is a bonus.
“I’ve always thought it such a beautiful hall and I’m excited to finally play there and fill it with harmony and beautiful music.”
The 11-track album was recorded and produced at Christchurch’s LOHO Studio with multi-instrumentalist and touring band member Josh Logan – it debuted at no.3 in the Official Top 40 album charts and no.2 in the Top 20 NZ album charts.
