Ready to hot-foot it: Most of these Remarks Dance Crew members — from left, Sara Tully, Audrey ‘Drey’ Tendron, Tali Mizrachi, Michaela Andersson, Danni Blow, Neha Gosalia and Kerry Turner — will be performing on Saturday

A Queenstown adult dance group’s holding its first showcase tonight at Te Atamira.

Remarks Dance Crew, set up by artistic director Audrey ‘Drey’ Tendron just over three years ago, plans to celebrate both what they’ve achieved in that time and their diverse dance whānau.

‘‘We found there wasn’t really an event focused on adult dance groups — people who dance not to compete or pass exams but for the sheer joy of movement and expression — so we decided to create one,’’ Tendron says.

The showcase, starting 7.30pm, is a free/koha event including Remarks Dance Group members performing hip hop and salsa with two other groups putting on contemporary and African dance performances.

‘‘And we are finishing up with a little dance party for everyone,’’ Tendron adds.
