Southern Lakes Swimming Club’s holding its season-opening ‘open day’ from 9 till 11am on today.
Newcomers can take a quick dip or try out any distance along the club’s 1.2km swim lane beside the Frankton Track, which has been marked out with new buoys.
A kayaker and stand-up paddleboarder, along with experienced swimmers, will ensure no one’s out of their depth.
It’s also recommended swimmers bring a tow float or wear a brightly-coloured cap for easy ID.
The open day’s free for non-members and members alike.
