New Zealand Sotheby’s International Realty’s award for its top-performing NZ agent last year has been jointly won by two Queenstown agents who work as a team.
They’re Gerard Bligh and Hadley van Schaik, who’ve won ‘top team’ before, but not the individual prize.
The duo, who last year averaged just over one sale a week, and have already sold 12 properties this year, teamed up five years ago.
Bligh told Mountain Scene in 2020: ‘‘When we teamed up we covered more ground, we could meet more vendors and sell more properties.’’
Van Schaik says sales over the past year have been ‘‘a lot more challenging to get over the line’’, reflecting stats showing properties are taking longer to sell.
Presentation, marketing and choosing the right strategy for each property are important, they say.
‘‘We do rely on our colleagues a lot to help us,’’ he says.
‘‘They sell a lot of our listings, and we sell a lot of theirs.’’
The duo also pay credit to their long-time PA, Leah Fitzpatrick.
