Colliers Otago’s new Queenstown-based boss intends overseeing the property company’s further expansion while also maintaining the
strength of its current platform.

Managing director John Scobie (pictured), who took over November 1, has been a registered valuer with the company, and its predecessor, for the past 19 years.

‘‘I’m really pleased the directors have shown faith in me,’’ he says.

Colliers has offices in Queenstown, Wānaka and Dunedin and about 80 staff encompassing residential sales, commercial sales and leasing, valuation and consultancy services, Relaxaway Holiday Homes and Pure Property Rentals.

Scobie says the company’s annual ‘market review and outlook’, prepared by its valuation team, is ‘‘a real driver of our business’’.

In terms of the market, he believes ‘‘things are going pretty strongly in Queenstown’’.

‘‘There’ll be blips … but our trajectory is upwards.’’
