Headed for Nepal: Some of the WHS students fundraising for their trip are Albie Boden, Luke McKinney, James Weber, Scarlett Rose, Trinity Jones and Amber Dow

A group of Wakatipu High students is giving away a raffle prize a day next month, to help get to Nepal.

Twelve students are heading off on a 21-day expedition in December, which will include a nine-day hike through the Himalayan mountains and three days’ community service, where they’ll help rebuild schools, and help with educating kids in local villages.

They need to raise $10,000 per student.

Their fundraising efforts include an online raffle — tickets for which are $5 a pop — from which they’re hoping to raise $6k.

There are 30 prizes, ranging from a one-night stay and breakfast for two at Hilton Queenstown to reformer Pilates classes, one
of which will be given out each day next month.

The teacher in charge, Noni Gabb, says the community’s been ‘‘so incredibly supportive’’ by donating amazing prizes.

Tickets can be purchased by scanning the QR code (pictured).
