Six Queenstown CBD art galleries are extending opening hours from 5 till 7pm tonight to host the free monthly ‘First Thursdays’ event.
They’re Starkwhite, Milford Galleries, Romer, Lightworx and Artbay’s cottage and upstairs galleries.
Among new works at Romer Gallery, featuring large-scale landscape photographs by Stephan Romer, is ‘Irishman Creek Roadman’s Hut’ (pictured), depicting sun setting on a Mackenzie Basin hut built almost 100 years ago.
At 5.30pm, Milford Galleries hosts a talk by artist Simon Clark, whose new exhibition features a series of oil paintings blending Kiwiana logos with vibrant flowers and plants.
