Winner of the fourth stage of the 66th Tour of Southland, Australian Carter Bettles, from ARA Pro Racing Sunshine Coast, makes it look easy as he crosses the finish-line at The Remarkables yesterday afternoon, following a brutal 109km slog from Te Anau in the morning, which finished with a 6km uphill grunt.
Heading into today’s stage, which will take the 21-team field 154km, from Invercargill’s Velodrome to the top of Bluff Hill, Bettles is the overall leader, 1min and 20secs ahead of Southlander JoshBurnett, riding for Creation Signs-MitoQ.
