Seven members of Queenstown’s Wakatipu Wild women’s ice hockey team have again been named in the New Zealand under-18 women’s side to compete in Sofia, Bulgaria, in January.
Defencewomen Aoife Orr, Gracie Helmrich and Lucy Boniface and forwards Inge Kemp, Jessie Strain, Manuella Pedrosa and Polly Bennetts have all been named for the second year running to compete in the IIHF Division 2, Group B tournament, in Sofia, from January 8 to 14.
Meantime, young SkyCity Stampede players Logan Campbell (defenceman) and goaltender Joel Gerard have been selected for the NZ U20 men’s team to compete in the IIHF Division 3, Group A tournament, also being played in Sofia, from January 22 to 28.
