Wakatipu High golfers dominated the Otago intercollegiate champs in Cromwell last week to an extraordinary degree.
Out of a field of 42, the school’s golfers took the top five spots.
In order, from left, are Nico Cheifetz, 17, who also topped the field the past two years, Noah Novacek, 15, Yoonae Jeong, 14, Ricky Kang, 14, and Ricky’s sister, Sumin, 18.
The boys formed the winning team and the girls were runners-up.
In addition, Yoonae was named Eagles Golf Otago junior golfer of the year for her achievements over the past year, for which she picked up $500.
David Harding, teacher in charge of golf, says it’s ‘‘pretty awesome’’ Wakatipu High provided the tournament’s top five golfers.
It’s also a credit to the students who work ‘‘exceptionally hard’’ at the sport.
