Queenstown pro golfer Ben Campbell tied for 13th in the International Series Qatar, part of the Asian Tour.

In the 31-year-old’s last tournament before this week’s 102nd New Zealand Open, he had rounds of 73, 73, 73, 72 to finish three-over par.

The tournament was won by young gun Andy Ogletree, 26, from the United States, who pocketed $US450,000.

Ogletree was a late withdrawal from this week’s NZ Open, however, Gunn Charoenkul, who finished second, and Ben Leong, who tied for fifth will be in action this week.

Other notable finishers in Qatar playing in Queenstown are Miguel Angel Carballo, who tied for eighth, and Andrew Dodt, Zach Murray and Micah Lauren Shin who, along with five others, also tied for 13th.

The NZ Open, free for spectators, is being played at Millbrook from Thursday till Sunday.
