Cracking into it: Silver Creek sales and marketing manager Peter Bennetts, left, and lead contractor Grant Devery

It’s coming off the drawing board.

After more than two-and-a-half years of exhaustive planning, culminating in resource consent approval in September, construction of a 580-section residential subdivision, high above Queenstown’s Frankton Rd, has finally begun.

Silver Creek is being constructed over 33 hectares of formerly heavily-forested land which local father-and-son developers Gavin and Josh Moore, and another local investor, bought from Queenstown Hill’s Middleton family in early 2021.

The site’s being broken up into 15 neighbourhoods that’ll all have their own character.

A cornerstone of the development is The Summit, launched last year, which Josh says offers ‘‘an unparalleled luxurious living experience, merging privacy with upscaled amenities’’.

Creekside, designed to blend in with the natural environment, has launched with house-and-land packages.

And launching early in the new year is Sycamore Grove, which will offer ‘‘entry-level sections’’, underscoring, Josh says, ‘‘Silver Creek’s dedication to providing a spectrum of housing choices, ensuring there are options available for a variety of budgets’’.

The subdivision is 1.2km long west to east, from above Goldfield Heights to Middleton Rd.
