Under the tag-line, ‘‘as rare as a hole-in-one’’, an empty section (pictured) facing Queenstown’s Kelvin Heights golf course is being marketed for auction this Thursday.

The only bare section in Grove Lane, it’s been listed by local Harcourts agent Allyra McGrath on behalf of a Kiwi couple who formerly lived in Queenstown and have owned the 673 square metre site for 20 years.

‘‘They always thought they’d come back but they’ve ended up staying over there,’’ McGrath says.

The sheltered site faces not only the golf course but also Bob’s Peak, and is a few metres from Lake Whakatipu in either direction.

McGrath says she’s expecting it’ll sell for north of its capital value of $1.66 million.
