Two students of Queenstown’s Turn Up The Music School have won accolades in the Alexandra Musical Society’s regional music comp.
Rachel Yoo (above, right), 15, won ‘most outstanding performance’ with two piano pieces, Schumann’s Novolletten and Debussy’s Claire de Lune.
And Konnor Shen (above, left), 9, won a special award rosette for his rendition of Burgmuller’s La Chevaleresque.
Both are pupils of Kana Takahashi at the new Te Atamira arts hub.
Music school director Emma Wilson says they’re lucky to have ‘‘a great team of committed teachers across all the different instruments’’.
