Less than a month out from Queenstown’s skifields opening, The Remarkables is putting out a call for 2023 Snowbuddies volunteers.

NZSki’s adaptive programme coordinator Sheena Haywood says the vollies are on-snow helpers for those who need some extra support on the mountain.

Training’s provided so volunteers can understand a wide range of disabilities and how they can best help on the snow to ensure anyone with any kind of disability can enjoy the freedom of snowsports.

Haywood says any capable skiers or snowboarders who want to learn more can come to an intro event this Thursday, June 1, upstairs in The Station building — on the corner of Shotover and Camp Streets — from 6pm till 8pm.

The Remarks is scheduled to open on June 17.
