A temporary events venue’s in the works at Queenstown’s Jack’s Point.

Lake Tewa Events Ltd wants to erect a marquee, measuring about 10 metres by 20m, outdoor seating and deck areas next to Lake Tewa, near the Jack’s Point clubhouse.

It’d have capacity for 150 people, and be available for a range of events, including weddings.

There are also plans to provide kitchen facilities and toilets in additional containers, while carparking would be provided by existing gravel parks, adjoining Clubhouse Lane.

Landscaping’s also planned, with hedging planted around the site.

The plan’s been signed off by Jack’s Point’s design review board, while landowner, Jack’s Point Village No2 Ltd, has also given it a tick.

Last week, Queenstown’s council deemed the application incomplete, in part, because there’s no detail around how ‘temporary’ the events venue would be.
