Change of scene: The Farmhouse owners, from left, Sam and Ryan Lelievre and Didier Horand

Three Queenstowners have swapped one cafe for another.

The Exchange owners Sam and Ryan Lelievre and Didier Horand have recently opened The Farmhouse, a new cafe/restaurant and bar at Hanley’s Farm, developed by RCL Group.

‘‘We want The Farmhouse to be not only for Hanley’s Farm residents but a destination for other Queenstown locals, so they can try something different and experience our southern hospitality,’’ Ryan says.

Situated on the corner of Jack Hanley Dr and Spur Ridge Rise, The Farmhouse also stocks a small range of household essentials, to save residents a trip to the supermarket, along with a ‘‘thoughtfully priced’’ full menu.

‘‘We want people to feel as though they can visit regularly not just on special occasions,’’ he says.

On the sustainability and supporting local front, they’re serving locally roasted coffee, have introduced a ‘mug library’ to reduce waste, and have coffee grounds available for local gardens.

Opening hours are 7.30am to 5pm Mondays and Tuesdays, 7.30am to 9.30pm Wednesdays to Fridays, and 8am to 9.30pm Saturdays and Sundays.
