Local artist Marc Blake’s Broker gallery’s taken a two-month lease over adjoining Queenstown Marina sheds.

‘‘As usual, I’m on the mission to try and find interesting spots to put artwork into.

‘‘The owner supported us, which is good.’’

Blake says he’ll be showing ‘‘a lot of interesting, emerging and established artists from New Zealand and a couple from overseas’’.

As an intimate space, he believes the contemporary gallery will appeal a lot to passers-by.

‘‘Most people who come in here want to hang out and talk a bit and have a bit of discussion about art.’’

The gallery’s open Monday till Saturday, 11am till 3pm.

Having formerly been in Five Mile, and also, latterly, in Beach Street, Blake admits he’s become a fairly mobile gallerist.

‘‘You have to be,’’ he says.

‘‘The next step’s a campervan, I think.’’
