Four Queenstown homes hit the nail on the head in the 2023 Regional ADNZ Resene Architectural Design Awards.

Announced last Friday in Invercargill, ‘Oregon’, designed by Aaron Jones, of Urbanfunction, ‘Kingston Hut’, designed by Matt Anderson-Stewart, of MAS Architecture Ltd, ‘Lakeside Estates’, designed by Kelly Rush of Krush Architecture (pictured above), and ‘Driftaway’, designed by Ant Jackson of Immersion Architecture, all met the mark for this year’s judges.

Two Wānaka properties — ‘Heights Whare’, designed by Virginia Barlow, of VBA Ltd, and ‘Hunter Crescent’, by Jonathan Moore, of Moore Architecture Ltd — were also winners.

ADNZ boss Keryn Davis says the awards highlight the rich architecture of the area, and the scenery.

‘‘When you think of Otago architecture, an image of a warm home, a fire roaring inside, with a stunning mountainous landscape comes to mind.

‘‘That’s what makes this region so exciting.

‘‘The architecture is inviting, the views are like something from a postcard, and so you just want to go there and experience it for yourself.

‘‘Each of the winners represent their region with pride and have excelled in adding another beautiful and welcoming home to the region.’’

All the winners have now gone through to the national awards, which will be announced at an awards ceremony in Wellington in October.
