If yoga’s all about movement, Queenstown yoga and massage studio Nadi Wellness has certainly embraced this in recent times, moving five times in three months.

After 12 years in the CBD’s Brazz building, owner Sandi Murphy thought she’d found another long-term home when she moved into 55 Gorge Rd in December, 2022.

Last November, however, she suddenly had to vacate the building, which dates back to only 2011, when she learned it was seriously earthquake-prone.

She then had ‘‘super-temporary’’ stints at Hotel St Moritz, Sherwood and OC Health Clubs gym, whom she was all grateful to, before moving to Speargrass Flat Rd premises on January 3.

Murphy says this location, with its ‘‘nature vibes’’, has been wonderful, and she also gained new clients from around there, including Arrowtowners.

However, she had to run her business ‘‘at a reduced capacity’’, and it also didn’t suit erstwhile clients who didn’t have a car.

But now, after an approach from Megan Matthews, who operates her Remedial Massage from 134 Gorge Rd, Murphy’s signed on as a sub-tenant and was due to open Nadi Wellness — with six therapy rooms and a yoga studio — from there last Wednesday.

She says the great thing about her latest location is it has three carparks out front and two out the back, with neighbour Guthrie Bowron also letting her use its parks during the evening.

She’s also delighted she’s able to retain the Speargrass Flat Rd premises for trainings, workshops and day retreats.

Meantime, Murphy says she’s engaged a barrister and is looking at taking action to recover the ‘‘significant’’ cost of fitting out 55 Gorge Rd, which she’d hoped to repay over 12 years, as well as the ‘‘significant’’ cost of transitioning to a new home.
