There are two new faces on Snow Sports New Zealand’s board of directors.
Anthony Hannon, a founding director of Treble Cone Ski Area and snowboard heavyweight Guy Alty, who has managed the Burton brand in New Zealand for the past 17 years, are the latest additions to the organisation it was announced yesterday.
Auckland investment banker Hannon and Christchurch-based Alty were selected from more than 20 hopefuls for the new seats at SSNZ, which recently combined the five mountain sports – alpine, snowboarding, freeskiing, cross country and adaptive snow sports – under one umbrella organisation.
“I’m very passionate about winter sports and have a desire to assist in the national development of snow sports in New Zealand,” Alty says.
“My experience, knowledge and understanding of the industry, nationally and internationally, are traits that will help me contribute to the strategic development of all snow sports.”
