Queenstown mountain biker Jess Blewitt this week finished fourth in the elite women’s downhill in the Andorra round of the UCI world cup.

Blewitt, 20, pictured in action at Vallnord last Saturday, has now moved to 11th in the overall standings, having competed in just two of the six world cup events this year.

Meantime, fellow Queenstowner George Brannigan came 16th in the elite men’s downhill in Andorra ahead of another local, Ed Masters, who finished in 41st place.

The world cup now moves across the Atlantic with rounds in the US and Canada.
