Mountain biker Loran Gibbs (left) rips his way downhill at Seven Mile in the fifth event of the League of Gentleman series last Thursday.
Gibbs was among about 40 entrants who had to knock off the route as fast as possible before ditching their mountain bikes and diving into Lake Wakatipu.
The purely social outing didn’t involve results – mountain biking was the winner on the day.
The next League of Gentleman race, dubbed King of Skippers, involves what organiser Graeme Cooper calls a “self-explanatory sprint” down Skippers Canyon.
It kicks off at 6.30pm next Thursday.
