Local pro wrestling veteran Marc ‘Hooligan Marcus Kool’ Perry is pictured having the squeeze put on him by ‘Savage’, known as NIWA, at Queenstown WrestleFest recently.
In what he admits may have been his ‘‘most intense and physical battle to date’’, Perry, backed by a vociferous hometown crowd, somehow broke NIWA’s shackles and prevailed in the final bout of the night at the Memorial Centre on April 3.
This was the seventh WrestleFest in a row staged by Southern Pro Wrestling NZ, which Perry co-owns.
‘‘It’s always my favourite show of the year,’’ he says.
‘‘The crowd here never disappoint with their enthusiasm.
‘‘It was great to come back post-Covid and still be able to put on a show with a great attendance and show of support.’’
