A NOVICE Queenstown mountain biker has notched another national win – and chases more glory this weekend.
Kate Fluker (left) won the Christ-church leg in the four-part New Zealand Cross Country Mountain Bike Cup last Saturday – even with a swollen ankle.
She’s hoping for a repeat performance on Saturday at the NZ Cross Country Champs in Dunedin.
Fluker, 23, won three of four senior women’s division races in the national series – she didn’t compete in Napier and despite winning on points, it cost her the title.
“You had to race Napier and Christchurch to qualify for an overall result,” Fluker says.
“[But] it was a good way to finish.”
