Queenstown freeskier Blake Marshall’s made it into the world’s top 10.

Marshall (above), an ambassador for The Remarkables skifield, recently competed in the grand final of the Freeride World Tour in Verbeir, Switzerland, where he placed eighth.

That put him ninth overall in the world, meaning he’s achieved his goal to requalify for the
2022 tour.

He also won the ‘most radical moment’ for dropping a Bio 720 on his run — the first time he’s pulled that trick in a competition, the commentator labelling it ‘‘incredible’’.

Meantime Queenstown teen snowboarder Cool Wakushima’s finished her debut international season with a seventh placing in slopestyle at the World Cup in Silvaplana, Switzerland.

The 18-year-old, who picked up gold and silver medals for big air and slopestyle at the Aspen Open stop of the US Revolution Tour in February, also finished eighth in slopestyle and 13th in the big air at the World Snowboard Champs, and 18th in the slopestyle at the World Cup, all held in Aspen last month.
