Barbarians keeper Scott Donaldson (left) snappily stumps Lake Hayes Estate Strikers batter Subath Wijerathna during a Queenstown Cricket Club T20 league game at the Events Centre last Friday.
The Strikers were embarrassingly dismissed for just 45, with Barbarians bowlers Gihan Fernando and Charanjet Singh taking 3 for 5 and 3 for 14, respectively.
Barbarians, in reply, racked up 48 for no wicket, Lachie Marshall contributing 39.
In the other games, Arrowtown Massive made 134 and held Kelvin Heights Ducks to 100, and Boydtown Chargers made 140 for 6 — Simon Rwajer belting the competition’s first
100, from only 61 balls — and Hanley’s Farm Rangers were all out for 111, Chargers’ Will Young taking 3 for 13.
In the new local 50-over competition on Saturday, reduced due to rain, Wakatipu beat Remarkables and Shotover beat Coronet.
