John Gavin Construction’s Queenstown home (pictured) is in the ‘new home over $4 million’ category; AJ Saville Builder is in the ‘Resene new home $2m-$4m’ for an Arrowtown property; Lakes Building Co’s Queenstown house has made the cut in the ‘new home $1.5m-$2m’ category; while Form Construction’s Lake Hayes property and Hudson Builder’s Queenstown digs are in the ‘builder’s own home’ section.

A David Reid Homes Wānaka and Central Otago house has been named in the ‘Carters new home $1m-$1.5m’, while an Archi Build Wānaka property and a Hunter & Craig Building & Design home are in the ‘Altus Window Systems new home $750,000-$1m’.

This year, the regional competition had almost 300 entries across nine regions — each was visited by a panel of judges, who assessed the properties on workmanship, design, style and functionality.

Registered Master Builders CEO David Kelly says each year judges are more impressed by the ‘‘remarkable builds’’, level of expertise and craftsmanship.

The top 100 will now be re-judged by a national panel ahead of the the national awards gala in November.
