Pictured is a scene from British film Focus that’s among a selection of 13 international and New Zealand short cycling films screening in Arrowtown on Thursday night.

Part of an annual event, The Big Bike Film Night, the film, directed by Chris Prescott, is about a cyclist with diminishing vision racing through the Arctic tundra of Finnish Lapland.

Other films depict a bikepacking journey through the Canadian Rockies, a bike builder who builds off-road cycles that change people’s lives and one featuring the new Lake Dunstan
Cycle and Walking Trail.

‘‘This collection is a great reminder of why we love to ride, with films that celebrate the fun, the adventure and inspiration that cycling enables,’’ organiser Brett Cotter says.

Arrowtown’s screening, at the Athenaeum Hall, starts 7pm; tickets from www.bigbikefilmnight.nz
