Christchurch mural artist Nick Lowry’s painted a tui and flowering kowhai by the main entrance to Queenstown’s CBD this week.

He’s one of three artists selected by Queenstown Arts Centre to brighten fencing around the upper Ballarat Street carpark — now a temporary construction laydown area.

In a competition funded by an alliance between the council and Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency, the winners each received $5000.

The arts centre’s aiming to have all the murals completed by the end of the year — the remaining two are being done by Ronnie Baker and Koryu Aoshima.
