PICTURE: THE MUSIC IS TALKING

Kingston’s charity music festival has landed another big name act.

New Zealand five-piece Kora will headline King Beats 2020 in February, following on from The Black Seeds last year.

And the festival has increased its capacity to 2500 people for its fifth year.

Kora plays reggae, rock, dub, roots, funk and space funk.

King Beats founder and organiser Brendan Mulcahy says they’re “amazing”.

The Wakatipu Youth Trust, Ronald McDonald House in Invercargill, and Garston Primary School will be the main beneficiaries of the charity fest next year.

Turtle Funk and Haven are local bands on the bill.

Earlybird tickets go on sale next Friday, October 4, at 9am, through TheTicketFairy.com.
