National stage for young songwriters

An EP featuring the works of six young songwriters who’ve been mentored by part-time Queenstowner, international touring artist Jackie Bristow, was released in Parliament, in Wellington, last week.

The six — aged between 9 and 16 — are Queenstown-based Ivy McKenzie, Mala Januskiewicz, Saige Galloway and sisters Taylah and Addisyn Miller, and Dunedin-and formerly Wānaka-based Freya Jeffery.

Bristow’s pictured at Parliament with, from right, Taylah and Freya along with Freya’s sister, Chole.

The release, in association with Auckland-based Youthtown, also marked the official launch of Bristow’s Central Lakes songwriting programme, SongCatcher.
