Country Lane’s about to welcome a church.
Originally located in Waipahi, east of Gore, the church (pictured) is moving to the Frankton retail precinct in about three weeks.
Country Lane operations manager Annika Grant says the 86 square metre church ‘‘appears to be in really good nick, so hopefully won’t cost much to repurpose’’.
The plan is to turn it into a commercial space, what it’ll house is still to be determined.
Meantime, there’s still no word on Country Lane’s tender to relocate Stanley Street’s Queenstown Arts Centre building, despite the council telling Mountain Scene last week an announcement was due ‘‘in the next few days’’.
