Inbound: Immigration Minister Kris Faafoi's due in Queenstown tomorrow

By DANIEL ALVEY

Today marks 228 days since Kris Faafoi was given the immigration portfolio.

His office confirmed to Mountain Scene this week they’ve received an invitation from Queenstown mayor Jim Boult to visit the resort, and are working towards agreeing a
date with Queenstown mayor Jim Boult’s office.

Boult says he’s ‘‘delighted’’ the minister’s coming.

‘‘I understand that it’s in the short-term.’’

Asked about Scene’s ‘Minister-ometer’ on page one, Faafoi media man Peter Stevens chuckled and said he was unaware of it, but ‘‘local media will be the first to know’’ when the date for the minister’s visit is agreed on.

Faafoi has four ministerial portfolios — the others are justice, broadcasting and media, and
emergency management (acting).
