Pacific Radiology’s been confirmed as the new tenant for a purpose-built imaging facility
by Queenstown Country Club.
Beside the under-construction Southern Cross surgical hospital, the Pacific Radiology facility’s expected to open later this year.
Incoming Otago Southland managing radiologist Greg Harkness says it’s exciting to be part
of the joint venture project with Southern Cross Hospitals — the hospital will be managed by Southern Cross with Central Lakes Trust as an investment partner.
Harkness says services being delivered from the new building will include MRI, CT, X-ray,
ultrasound and breast imaging services.
Work on the new $20 million-plus hospital, being built by the retirement village’s original
developer Sanderson Group, started at the end of last April.
Project head Andrew Blair says overall construction’s going well and the hospital’s on track to open by the end of this year.
On completion it’ll house three operating theatres and up to 12 inpatient beds.
There are, however, plans to extend it to create seven more treatment rooms and a medical consultancy facility with 15 rooms, alongside the radiology building.
