Hey Australia Queenstown is open for business

Queenstown businesses are jumping on-board a national tourism campaign to show New Zealand’s still a top destination following Christchurch’s earthquake.

Tourism NZ is sending a message to the Aussie market using snapshots of staff holding up ‘open’ signs outside businesses to prove the country’s tourism sector is up and running as normal.

“The whole point is that we tell the world that we are open and it’s never been a better time to visit New Zealand,” a Destination Queenstown email states.

The ad campaign will be launched across the ditch this Sunday, and local operators had until noon today (Wednesday) to submit a photo and a few words encouraging Aussies to make a Trans-Tasman trip.
