Queenstown’s new Holiday Inn Remarkables Park will open early next month.
Developed and owned by QLong Investments Ltd, and operated by IHG Hotels & Resorts,
Holiday Inn Queenstown Remarkables Park has created over 100 jobs during the two-year construction phase and will provide over 50 employment opportunities for locals.
Once open, Holiday Inn Queenstown Remarkables Park will be the fourth Holiday Inn hotel in New Zealand — and the first new-build Holiday Inn in NZ in a decade — complementing the three existing IHG hotels in Queenstown.
Its general manager, Mathew Simister, says the hotel is on track for its December opening.
‘‘While opening a hotel during a pandemic and multiple lockdowns has had its challenges, we remain optimistic about the future of travel.
‘‘Our guests can book with the reassurance of our hotel cleanliness and hygiene promise, flexible cancellation policy and know they will be warmly welcomed in the reliably familiar way they have come to expect when staying at Holiday Inn.
‘‘We look forward to welcoming our first guests to the hotel this December and contributing to the ongoing success of the Remarkables Park town and lifestyle development,’’ Simister
The multimillion-dollar hotel development, comprising 182 rooms and suites, is the first
full-service hotel to open within the new Remarkables Park lifestyle development in Frankton, and will feature the first ‘open lobby’ in NZ.
Mirroring a laid-back living room, the open lobby offers guests a casual and flexible space in which to eat, drink, work, meet, relax and socialise, and features a fireplace, Giants restaurant and bar, a media lounge, seating areas, and an E-Bar, with plug-in power, Wi-Fi and wireless printing.
The hotel includes four flexible meeting rooms, catering for small meetings of up to 30 people, or up to 200 people theatre-style.
