Gibbston winery and cellar door Kinross has promoted three managers for its post-Covid growth phase.

Nicky Sygrove, sales and marketing manager for the past two years, has taken over as CEO from co-owner Christine Erkkila, who’ll retain a governance role along side her husband, John.

Conor O’Boyle moves from accountant to chief operating officer, leading the kitchen, bistro and hotel teams, and HR, on top of his financial responsibilities.

And former cellar sales and wine club manager Thomas Moschetta becomes GM of wine.

Sygrove says during Covid the Erkillas’ extensive business experience ‘‘helped them cleverly navigate the turbulence and safely protect the company’s fantastic staff culture, allowing us to not only grow but retain and attract some incredible new team members’’.

‘‘I feel very proud and lucky to be handed the reins at such a key time of switching to revival mode, and Christine can get some well-deserved down time.’’

Kinross’ new cellar door building is due to be completed around late October.
