The doors to a much-loved Queenstown venue have reopened, but it’s taken on a new sparkly vibe.
Republic Hospitality Group launched Birdy, replacing Searle Lane’s Bar Up, last Thursday.
The original home of the ‘money shot’, that recipe’s been passed on to Birdy, which Republic’s Lauren Ludlow says will be a ‘‘decadent, friendly and intimate cocktail and bubbles bar’’, while ‘‘letting your hair down and dancing is encouraged’’.
With capacity for up to 50 punters, the refreshed space, built by Republic’s Jimmy English and his team of local contractors, including ARE Services, is also going to be available for private hire.
