Three rising young Queenstowners will be in the spotlight on October 22 at a special JazzFest tribute night.
Established local performers such as Mark Wilson, Margaret O’Hanlon and Wakatipu High band Best Served Chilled will pay homage to young musicians Emily Burns, Max Gunn and Hertzog Burger at the Memorial Hall.
Over the past few years the three youngsters have given a huge amount back to Queenstown events – and JazzFest in particular, concert organiser Jan Maxwell says.
“The depth of musical talent in Queenstown is amazing and these young people have wowed us as they have grown as performers.
“Take note, Queenstown, this is not the last time you will hear these names.”
The trio of starlets, all still at school, are “now taking that next big step in life and looking to their future careers, and it would be nice to see local people turning out to support them”, Maxwell adds.
