Winter Festival fever breaks out again

Winter Festival fans – listen up

Do you feel the urge to join the Birdman competition, dress as a superhero and hurl yourself into freezing Lake Wakatipu in a vain attempt to fly?

Fancy strapping on your skis for Skin to the Summit, dancing in the Mardi Gras or racing down Coronet Peak in your suitcase?

Organisers of this year’s festival want to celebrate the people who choose to make Queenstown home – yes, that’s you.

So, if you’ve never been to Festival or have never missed one, come along to our community meeting – 5.15pm Wednesday, May 6, at the Millennium Hotel – and get involved…

Volunteer

Some people volunteer to help out at Festival because they love the chance to do their bit for the community.

Some people do it because they love the excitement of it all.

Whatever the reason, it takes a medium-sized army of people to keep this show on the road – so the more volunteers the merrier.

To volunteer, register online at www.winterfestival.co.nz or attend our community meeting on May 6.

MoreFM Birdman comp

All the madness of the More FM Day on the Bay is back with a vengeance in 2009.

So get your thinking caps on and create a crazy contraption or spectacular costume that you can enter in the More FM Birdman Competition.

All that we expect is that you let your imaginations run wild, have fun and get involved.

We want to make this year’s event shine.
