What: American Express Opening Party and Fireworks
Where: Earnslaw Park
When: Friday, June 25, 6pm
This is when families and the greater community converge on Earnslaw Park and the littlies have heaps of
opportunity to be a part of the celebrations. Southland’s international sensation Pipeworkz kick things off with their fusion of pipes, poi and classic rock. There are also plenty of alfresco food stalls, with the fireworks lighting up at 7pm.

What: Oaks Hotels and Resorts Festival Street Parade
Where: Central Queenstown
When: Saturday, June 26, noon
It’s spectator heaven, with two categories – Community and Business.
So gather your group or work colleagues together, get the thinking caps on and come up with the best float.
There are great prizes to be won and this is your chance to show off your creative skills to the 10,000-plus crowd that’ll line the streets of the resort.
This year festival will also pay homage to some outstanding Winter Olympians coming for the parade – go on, get into it!

What: MoreFM Birdman competition
Where: Queenstown Bay
When: Sunday, June 27, noon
This is not only your chance to see how crazy some Queenstowners really are, but your chance to prove you’re no different and take flight into the crisp waters of Lake Wakatipu.
To win, Birdmen will need to show the esteemed judging panel their prowess in the following categories: humour, costume, pre-flight routine and crowd reaction.

What: More FM Splash and Dash
Where: Queenstown Bay
When: Sunday, June 27, noon
Referring again to the crisp waters of Lake Wakatipu – there are a group of hardy souls out there who, year on year, don their budgie smugglers or Speedos, jump off Sail Queenstown’s America’s Cup Yacht NZL14 and swim to shore.
Yes folks, this is the More FM Splash and Dash and great prizes are given to both the male and female swimmers.

What: H&J’s Undy500
Where: Queenstown beach
When: Sunday, June 27, noon onwards
This one is pretty straightforward: strip off to your undies and run around the obstacle course on Queenstown’s beach in front of hundreds of people, the
media and maybe your mum in the middle of winter.

What: Speight’s Summit Downtown Day
Where: Earnslaw Park
When: Wednesday, June 30, noon
Dodgeball is coming to town, so get your team together and get on down to Earnslaw Park, where the balls will be flying as Dodgeball meets Drag Racing.
Dodgeball heats start at noon before festival favourite the Q92 More FM Drag Race. Yes, this is the one that puts the ‘Queen’ in Queenstown.
It’s an invitation-only, high-speed dash around the park, with strategically placed obstacles for normally reserved local gentlemen racing in high heels, skirts of questionable length and interesting hair and make-up.
Fiercely competitive but hilarious.

What: Speight’s Dog Derby and Dog Barking
Where: Coronet Peak skifield and the Village Green
When: Thursday, July 1, 12.30pm and 4pm
Winterfest just wouldn’t be the same without the dogs. The Speight’s Dog Derby at Coronet Peak at lunchtime requires no introduction and, for that matter, neither does the Dog Barking on the Village Green in the afternoon.
Townies with dogs that think they can cut it with the rural competition are welcome to enter.
A $15 entry fee applies to enter the Derby, while the Dog Barking is free.
Great prizes to be won if you are truly the fastest down the hill at Coronet Peak or the Best Country, Town, Loudest, Worst or Strongest barker in the district.

What: grabaseat Mountain Mayhem
Where: Coronet Peak
When: Saturday, July 3, noon
A day of skifield fun and crazy antics for all the family at Coronet Peak.
Be part of the action and take on some hard and fast courses in events such as the Suitcase Race and the Dash for Cash.
Classical or modified hot-rod suitcases are welcome – why not challenge your mates to enter and achieve your 15 minutes of fame?

What: Cookie Time Teddy Bears Picnic
Where: Queenstown Events Centre
When: Sunday, July 4, 11am-2pm
Kids, bring your favourite teddy bear and join us in the enchanted forest.
Pack a picnic lunch and be enthralled and entranced as storytellers work their magic.
Face painters will be on hand to turn you kids into tigers, and special guests such as the Cookie Muncher and Winnie the Pooh are available for a hug and photo.
