Fresh from a summer as resident DJ at Sankeys in Ibiza, Josh Butler downsizes for Queenstown tonight.
The UK house floor-filler is in town for a rare intimate gig at Boiler Room, his only NZ date on a short five-date antipodean tour.
Queenstown DJ Ribera, who’s supporting Butler along with Diko, says: “Should be really good.
“Normally you see him in front of many people, big warehouse gigs in the UK and clubs in Ibiza, but this will be as many as we can pack into Boiler Room.
“We’re expecting it to sell out – he’ll play a three-hour set at least.”
Butler, who spent his teenage years in New Zealand before breaking out in the Leeds club scene with his house, techno and old school garage stylings, has received regular airplay on BBC radio, gaining the seal of approval from none other than Pete Tong.
Catch Josh Butler, DJ Ribera and Diko tonight from 9pm at Boiler Room. $20 pre-sales, $30 on
